How to bust a drug cartel

El Salvador was once the murder capital of the world. Now it’s probably as safe as Canada. In 2019, Nayib Bukele became president and began a draconian crackdown on drug cartels, suspending the constitution and civil liberties. It busted gangs out of neighborhoods but flirted with tyranny to get there. Was the trade worth it? Frontier Magazine’s Peter Gietl joins us to talk.
