Northern suburbs man arrested for child abuse

Detectives from the SA Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team (SA JACET), a partnership between SAPOL’s Public Protection Division and the Australian Federal Police, this morning arrested a 21-year-old Northern Suburbs man on child sex offences.

The arrest is the result of an online investigation after SA JACET officers visited the man’s home and forensically examined his electronic devices. These and other devices were seized and will be subjected to further forensic analysis, which may result in the identification of further offences.

The man was accused of making a child suitable for sexual purposes and was released on bail to appear in Elizabeth District Court on September 25.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Stephen Patterson of the SA Police said: “The challenges presented by these types of investigations are significant. Our officer’s tenacity and unwavering commitment to identifying and arresting these types of alleged offenders helps to ensure our children, and the wider community, are made safer.”
