Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux furious after campaigner Harris uses his image in video ad

Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign was criticized this week by a California sheriff who was unhappy about being featured in a recently released ad.

According to the New York PostTulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux made it clear in a statement to Fox News that his appearance in the ad was not an endorsement of the vice president or her running mate.

In his statement, Boudreaux criticized Harris and the Biden administration for not doing enough to stem the flow of illegal border crossings at the U.S. southern border.

He also claimed that his likeness was used in the advertisement without his consent.

What’s going on?

Boudreaux’s statement to Fox News made it clear that he is not happy with his appearance in the ad, nor with Harris’s handling of the border crisis.

“In light of a recent political ad by Kamala Harris featuring Sheriff Boudreaux and other local law enforcement officials, the Sheriff wants to make it clear that his likeness is being used without his permission and that he is NOT endorsing Harris for President or any other political office,” the Sheriff said.

He added: “The truth is Harris never cared about the cartels and did nothing to stop people from crossing the border illegally.”

The Tulare County sheriff appears briefly in the ad, as the narrator emphasizes Harris’ record of prosecuting drug cartel bosses.

“Kamala Harris spent decades fighting violent crime as a prosecutor in a border state, taking on drug cartels and jailing gang members for smuggling guns and drugs across the border,” the ad’s narrator says.

Social media respond

Many people on social media suggested that the sheriff should file a lawsuit against Harris’ campaign for using his likeness without his permission.

“He should sue her. If the money-grubbing family of Isaac Hayes can do it, so can he!” wrote one X user.

Another X user wrote: “Can’t he sue her or ask her to stop posting the ad if he was used in the ad without his permission?”

The sheriff released updated statements on social media making it clear he does not endorse Harris and her policies.
