Dozens of people, including several from Mississauga, Brampton and Hamilton, face more than 150 charges in connection with an investigation into an alleged Toronto street gang, police said.

The multi-jurisdictional operation began in September when officers launched an investigation into a Toronto gang known as the Jamestown Crips, according to Toronto police.

According to police, the long-standing gang is involved in illegal gun possession and drug trafficking in Ontario, Manitoba and Newfoundland and Labrador.

The 11-month investigation, dubbed Project Foxxx by police, saw officers execute 35 search warrants across the GTA, including in Toronto, Hamilton, Brampton, Mississauga and Thompson (Male), between April and July 2024.

Police say they found nine firearms, 4.7 kilograms of cocaine with an estimated street value of $568,000, 6 kilograms of methamphetamine worth approximately $480,000 and more than $320,000 in “proceeds of crime.”

A total of 32 people were arrested during Project Foxxx, including eight from Hamilton, three from Brampton and two from Mississauga.

Toronto Police Chief Rob Johnson said the operation is an example of police forces in the GTA working together to dismantle criminal networks “outside of Toronto and across the country.”

“We know that drug trafficking fuels addiction, violence and crime. We will not allow criminal gangs, guns or drugs to undermine the safety and quality of life in our city.”
