PORT WASHINGTON, Wis. (WFRV) — The 25-year-old Wisconsin man accused of having multiple encounters with a 14-year-old girl he met through a social media app was back in court Thursday.

Wisconsin court records show that Samael Torres appeared via video with an attorney on behalf of Judge Sandy Williams, and that further proceedings were scheduled. The court update says the attorney is waiting for some information from the state.

Torres will return to the Ozaukee County Courthouse for further arraignment on October 15 at 10 a.m.

Court documents show that 25-year-old Samael Torres was in court via video for further proceedings. The attorney has requested additional time pending forensic examination.

Torres is due back in court on August 15 at 10 a.m. for further proceedings.

Samael Torres, 25, appeared with an attorney for a preliminary hearing, which also included testimony from Detective Gehm.

Court records show the court found probable cause and a plea of ​​not guilty was entered. Torres is scheduled to return to court on May 14 at 10 a.m. for further proceedings.

GRAFTON, Wis. (WFRV) — A cyber tip alert about possible child pornography has led to the arrest of a southeastern Wisconsin man who allegedly had multiple encounters with a 14-year-old girl he met on social media.

The cybertip was reported in late December 2022 by the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce.

According to Grafton Township police, 25-year-old Samael Torres was arrested and charged with second-degree sexual assault of a child, child enticement and sexual contact, and two other felonies.

According to officers, an investigation into Torres, who is from Mount Pleasant, revealed that Torres may have met the 14-year-old victim through social media.

The press release states that Torres and the girl met at her home and “engaged in sexual acts on multiple occasions,” one of which was allegedly recorded and posted online, prompting a report to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Court documents show Torres posted a $100,000 bond and has been charged with the following crimes:

  • Use a computer to facilitate a child sex crime
  • Sexual Exploitation of Children – Deploying, Using, Causing
  • 2 counts of: Sexual assault of a child in the second degree
  • 2 counts of: Child seduction – Sexual contact

“This is an example of exemplary police work,” said Chief Jeff Caponera, Grafton Police Department. “Detective Gehm received a video tip with almost no information, worked tirelessly and was able to utilize investigative tools to identify the victim and Torres.”

Torres has a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 18.
