Bellevue man sentenced to 27 years in prison for sexual exploitation of children

BELLEVUE, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — A 26-year-old Bellevue man is headed to federal prison for sexual exploitation of children.

Spencer Riding will spend 27 years behind bars plus a lifetime of supervised release. Court records show Riding contacted a 15-year-old girl through social media and persuaded her to send him topless photos.

Riding threatened to send the explicit pictures to strangers online if she did not send him child pornography.

After following his request, the child and her family approached law enforcement.

A federal grand jury indicted Riding, and while pending sentencing, law enforcement in Wyoming received a tip that Riding was engaged in further child pornography crimes through social media.

Riding entered a subsequent guilty plea to supersede information reflecting criminal conduct against all known victims.
