RDA seals illegal square in Rawalpindi

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has sealed an illegally constructed square in Gulrez area.

The plaza was constructed by an occupation mafia without obtaining the necessary approval or NOC. An operation was conducted against the illegal commercial building with the support of the Airport Police Station. On the instructions of the DG RDA, the illegal commercial building and its construction plan were sealed and seized and an FIR was registered against the persons involved.

The RDA had initially issued notices to the property owners, alleging that the plaza was built without an approved site plan. The plot in question was reportedly registered under the name of Sardar Yasir Rashid.

However, another party illegally occupied the plot and built a building without the site plan being approved. In response, the RDA, in collaboration with the police, sealed the building.

Sardar Yasir Rasheed, the owner of the kanal-sized plot, praised the RDA and the airport police for their efforts. He noted that the square had been sealed in the past too, but the powerful occupation mafia had illegally unsealed it and resumed construction.

“The RDA board has taken decisive action and sealed the matter again,” he acknowledged.
