"Consequences of the operation" Gun and narcotics nets resulting in felony arrests in San Bernardino County

Between August 10 and August 16, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department worked intensively to curb local criminal activity in what has been dubbed “Operation Consequences.” The operation, part of a broader county-wide crime-fighting initiative funded by the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors, is aimed at combating violent crime and dismantling gang activity. Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Sheriff’s Gangs/Narcotics Division and the United States Marshals Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force, deployed personnel to conduct the increased enforcement efforts, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department.

During the week-long operation, detectives conducted searches at various locations in Hesperia, Rancho Cucamonga, Fontana, San Bernardino and Chino, resulting in the seizure of seven firearms, including three ghost guns, and an undisclosed amount of illegal narcotics. The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department reported that the operation also resulted in four felony arrests. Such focused efforts, as stated by Sheriff-Coroner Shannon D. Dicus, are in line with the community’s demands for a better quality of life and safer neighborhoods.

The county’s authorized funds have been used for the express purpose of increasing law enforcement services. This influx of funds, the department says, will enhance ongoing operations in the months ahead. “Operation Consequences will focus on conducting targeted crime suppression operations in the High Desert and sheriff’s jurisdiction surrounding the city of San Bernardino,” the sheriff’s office shared in a recent statement.
