Honduras secures $350 million CAF credit for development efforts

The Honduran government announced Monday that CAF, the regional development bank for Latin America and the Caribbean, has approved a $350 million loan for social works, infrastructure and the coffee sector.

Honduras, Central America’s largest coffee producer and exporter, will use the funds for government spending and initiatives to promote social and gender inclusion, detailed in a government statement.

On the same day, CAF, the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) signed an agreement to strengthen cooperation on policies to combat transnational organized crime in the region.
