After admitting during the previous interview that he had just gotten out of prison, he reflected on the changes in his life since then. Gene described growing up in a mafia family and said that the Bonanno organization was recognized more for their violence than their ability to make money. He also explained how he joined the Bonanno family despite expectations of joining the Gambinos.
