Sr. Digital Grid Solutions Architect (Hybrid Capable) at Sierra Nevada Corporation – NC – Southern Pines

The Digital Grid Solutions Architect must have an advanced understanding of multi-domain operations and joint all-domain command and control (JADC2), tactical data links and how to integrate them into military operations, AI-driven big data solutions and analytics, and next-gen mission systems. This role will be involved in current operations for the Digital Grid business area, working with the U.S. Government and an industry partner.

The Digital Grid Solution Architect builds detailed architecture blueprints and software product roadmaps to solve business problems of the highest priority and complexity. They must have a high level of understanding of the process of gathering customer requirements and must be able to take those requirements and map them to software roadmaps. The Solution Architect ensures that solutions align with Enterprise Architecture strategies, standards, and patterns across the business, data, application, and infrastructure architecture layers. He/she facilitates coordination with business area leadership, architects, and SMEs within assigned business organizations, as well as BD leadership. He/she also serves as the primary source for prioritization decisions, collaborating with Technology and BD for software pipeline decisions. The Solution Architects maintain a current knowledge of applicable technologies for the Digital Grid product line.

Responsibilities:

  • The Digital Grid Sr. Solution Architect is expected to be highly familiar with all aspects of the operation and deployment of the equipment supported by the Digital Grid team, including all internal software applications, data solutions, and product lines.

  • Responsible for building demonstrations for potential customers to support business development initiatives

  • Responsible for supporting white papers and proposals by providing subject matter expertise and technical writing support.

  • Responsible for requirements capture and prioritization to support Agile Software development roadmaps, including software product management

  • Gather feedback from stakeholders to make necessary improvements and adjustments to the solutions being designed or deployed.

  • Key technical contributor to producing technical notes, whitepapers and proof of concepts

  • Provide technical support to the Digital Grid BD team and ensure MST technology roadmaps are relevant to achieving strategic business goals.

  • Travel is required up to 25% of the time annually (customer engagement, business development, exercise and end-user integration support).

Indispensable:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

  • 10 or more years of relevant experience

  • Higher education can be a substitute for relevant experience

  • Relevant experience may be taken into account in lieu of the required education

  • Experience with business architecture, capacity planning and IT alignment with business and BU strategy

  • Knowledge of wireless networks, tactical communications and personal computers

  • Experience in designing, developing and integrating applications

  • Experience using Multi-INT fusion (OSINT, SIGINT, Imagery, Cyber) or commercial data fusion to build full-scope analytical products

  • Key technical contributor to producing technical notes, whitepapers and proof of concepts

  • Experience in identifying software and system requirements, along with their prioritization and management

  • Full understanding of DoD military operations, particularly within the special operations and intelligence communities

  • Up to 25% of travel to the United States/international time required annually (customer engagement, business development support, training, exercises, and end-user integration support)

  • An active Top Secret US Security Clearance with SCI qualification is required.

Preference:

  • Thorough knowledge of Navy tactical data link hardware is highly desirable (Link 16)

  • In-depth knowledge of modern software development architectures and integration patterns

  • Experience or interest in SQL, Python or other data science languages ​​and tools

  • Experience in drawing up reference architecture

  • Experience with supplier management

  • Communication and customer interface skills

  • Experience in supporting Business Development Qualification

  • Experience with Agile Development Processes

  • Comprehensive understanding of system-level maintenance of networks and communications systems

  • Knowledge of big data analysis

  • Background with the doctrine of the US Military Intelligence and/or the US Intelligence Community

  • Experience performing task, collection, processing and dissemination activities, either as a collection manager or analyst

  • Strong background in using exploitation, data visualization and mapping tools

  • Current Security+ certificate is desirable

  • Current Network+ certificate is desirable
