REP. ANDY BIGGS: A border czar by any name

The socialist Democratic Party that crowned Vice President Kamala Harris as its presidential candidate would rather debate Harris’ job title than her achievements. They do not like the label “Border Czar” that even left-wing media has used, because it highlights her failure to bring a solution to the chaos and crisis at the border.

And why wouldn’t they want to debate her job title instead of her failure to perform her duties? On her watch, 2 million “gotaways” of unknown identity entered the country, over 250,000 deaths from fentanyl overdoses occurred, over 100,000 unaccompanied children crossed the border and are now lost (remember the outrage on the left about “family separation?”), and terrorists and criminal gangsters were scattered across America.

No wonder she prefers to talk about job titles rather than failed policies.

But ultimately, this distraction won’t make Americans forget that Harris was forced to withdraw from the 2020 presidential primary before receiving a single vote, and that she still hasn’t received a single vote to become the Democratic nominee in 2024.

While the dishonest media types cover up what’s happening at the border, there’s a plethora of sites reporting on the ongoing border crisis. Here are just a few stories that have been reported in the past 10 days:

More than 6,000 illegal aliens, probably many illegal aliens, were purged from Virginia’s voter rolls. Thank goodness for Governor Glenn Youngkin. Wait, didn’t the dishonest media tell us that illegal aliens don’t register to vote and don’t vote?

A human smuggler has pleaded guilty in Texas to smuggling more than 560 illegal aliens into the country. He continued his human trafficking activities while out on bail.

An illegal alien released under the Border Czar’s (Kamala Harris) policies shot an individual in Alabama.

The Biden-Harris-Mayorkas triumvirate (don’t know how big a role Joe played) quietly pulled the plug on their illegal parole program that was reserving up to 30,000 monthly permits for people from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela into the United States. It turns out that people from these oases of peace and democracy were committing a tsunami of identity theft and fraud, including theft of social security numbers.

As the House Judiciary Committee and the Immigration Subcommittee (both of which I serve on) reported, the Border Czar’s policies have resulted in the release of at least 99 individuals on the Terror Watch List between 2021 and 2023.

A Pakistani with ties to Iran who came to America with the intent to assassinate former President Donald Trump was granted parole. The FBI ostensibly wanted to grant him parole so they could build a case against the Pakistani and arrest him, but wasn’t there already probable cause to arrest him for illegal entry? And isn’t letting him in a form of playing Russian roulette? And why did you grant parole to facilitate his arrest when the mere fact that parole was in play indicates that he was trying to enter without a visa or on a falsely obtained visa, which would have been probable cause to arrest him immediately without letting him in?

During the monsoon season in Arizona, all 114 floodgates in the border wall are open in case of flooding. It turns out that the transnational criminal organizations we call cartels are, not surprisingly, taking advantage of the open gates by pushing human and drug trafficking through the open portals.

Tragically, an 18-year-old illegal mother gave birth to her baby, placed the baby, placenta, etc. in a plastic bag and dumped the baby in a dumpster.

And finally, on August 7, it was reported that U.S. Customs and Border Protection sent a memo warning all of its field offices that Iran and its proxies may attempt to move agents and materials across our border. And in the same memo, USCBP also notified field offices that the largest and most dangerous criminal gang in Venezuela, the Tren de Aragua, had already infiltrated our porous southern border and was moving “assets” northeast.

You won’t find these headlines and stories describing the ongoing crisis at our southern border and its impact on the country’s interior in the dishonest media, which some call the “mainstream media.”

You will not see this important information because the media and the radical, socialist Democratic Party are more interested in distracting from the utter failure of Border Czar Kamala and his disdain for the border issue, and whether Harris has been officially designated as “border czar.”

Neither the media nor Harris can be trusted.

It turns out Shakespeare was right: no matter what you call a rose, it’s still a rose. And it doesn’t matter if you call Kamala Harris the “Border Czar,” because she has destroyed our geographic integrity through her reckless incompetence and failure to secure our border.
