German video game convention Gamescom kicked off on Tuesday with the Opening Night Live event, hosted by Geoff Keighley. As expected, the keynote address was packed with game trailers, including several world premieres of previously unannounced games.

Dozens of trailers were shown during the livestream, but below we’ve rounded up all the brand new games shown off for the first time today.

New games announced at Opening Night Live

Borderlands 4

Almost five years after the release of Borderlands 3Gearbox Studios has finally confirmed that a sequel is in the works and will be released in 2025. You’ll once again take control of a Vault Hunter, shooting enemies and collecting loot, but this one will take place on a new planet. All to whet the appetite for the Border areas film from our mouths.

Goat Simulator Remastered

Coffee Stain Studios revealed that the first trailer of the entire event, the weirdest and funniest, is Goat simulator game is getting a remaster. You’ll get updated graphics and all downloadable content when it releases later this year.

Dying Light: The Beast

This standalone adventure stars Kyle Crane. Castor Woods, an open world, rural area which has yet to appear in the Dying light series. If you have the Ultimate Edition of Dying Light 2 Stay Humanthen you get The Beast for free at launch.

King of the meat

Amazon describes King of the meat as “a combination of creative cooperative combat, user-generated dungeons, and ridiculous customization options.” As you compete in this survival gaming show, you’ll unlock new outfits, weapons, attacks, and items.

Lynched: Banner of the Spark

Lynched: Banner of the Spark is a top-down hack-and-slash game featuring “roguelite-inspired missions and city-building progression.” As you fight the Combots, you’ll unlock new items, upgrade your gear, and rescue allies who will aid you in battle.

Reanimal

From the makers of Little nightmares comes a new horror adventure game about a brother and sister trying to save their missing friend and escape the scary island they once called home. You can play the entire game alone or with a friend.

Herdling

In Herdlingyour task is to protect a group of furry Calicorns as you climb a mountain path. Along the way you will encounter puzzles to solve and dangers to avoid. From the same team that FAR: Lonely Sails And FAR: Changing Tides.

Masters of Albion

Peter Molyneux is back with Masters of Albionan upcoming god game where you “design, build, and customize your world, from the food your people eat to the clothes they wear, the weapons they wield to the homes they live in.”

Hoverfly

Hoverfly gives players the chance to relax in a world full of floating islands, toys, travel and superpowers. Like other life simulation games, you can farm, fish, chop wood and decorate your house while your floating island flies through the sky.

Mafia: The Old Country

There is no new Mafia game since 2016, but after the success of the 2020 remaster, the open-world action-adventure series will return next year. The old country is set in “the brutal underworld of 1900s Sicily,” and we’ll see more in December.
