Noida Authority demolishes shops, frees land worth Rs 3.5 crore from mafia

Noida, Aug 22 (SocialNews.XYZ) In a massive crackdown on real estate mafia in Uttar Pradesh, the Noida Authority on Thursday released land worth Rs 3.5 crore in its fight against encroachments on government property.

On Thursday, under the supervision of the Senior Manager of Work Circle-3 of the Noida Authority, the demolition of illegal structures in Noida Sector 42 was carried out.

Five percent of the plot in Sector 42 had been built illegally and shops had been built on about 1,000 square meters of land, which would later be sold to unsuspecting customers.

The land belonging to the Noida Authority was meant for housing projects and was seized by the land mafia.

The power of the land mafia was such that the illegal constructions were not demolished even after the Noida authorities issued a notice.

As the builder failed to adhere to the rules, the Noida Authority on Thursday morning carried out a demolition drive and demolished the illegally constructed shops on its premises.

The demolition work was carried out using two JCBs in the presence of 50 personnel of the authority and a team of Noida Police.

Police prevented protests from people present at the demolition, and the work proceeded peacefully afterward.

The authority demolishes illegal structures by continuously organizing actions in the municipality.

So far, about 600,000 square meters of land worth Rs 20 billion (Rs 2 billion) have been cleared from illegal occupation.

The CEO of Noida Authority has given strict instructions that illegal constructions of land mafia should be completely demolished.

The CEO also issued an advisory to the general public stating that those investing in real estate, especially land, in Noida should first get full information from the authority.

According to the authority’s data, the largest encroachment was found in Sorkha, Zahidabad and Salarpur villages in sectors 76, 78, 79 and 118. Six operations were carried out there to reclaim land worth Rs 195 crore.

Following this, encroachments on 15,000 square metres of land in Salarpur Khadar village and Sector 78, having a market value of Rs 72 crore, were removed.
