Axon is seeking an energetic, results-driven Pre-Sales Sales Engineer who thrives on pitching technology to leadership, support staff, and end users. This individual will play an instrumental role in accelerating our sales initiatives and must be a self-starter who excels in a fast-paced, evangelical startup environment focused on the law enforcement and public safety sector.

What you are going to do
Location: São Paulo, Brazil, travel up to 70% of the time within Brazil
Reports to:
Sr Manager, Latin America

  • Achieve mastery of all Axon technologies/products
  • Use exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively lead business and technical presentations
  • Conduct technical conversations with IT departments, including CIOs, as well as channel partner leadership and technical stakeholders
  • Set and manage expectations with customers and team members
  • Provide first-level technical support throughout the pre-sales cycle for opportunities
  • Stay organized and focused on removing sales barriers through creativity and adaptation to rapidly changing circumstances.
  • Develop relationships with key partners for growth within their customer base
  • Position the technology effectively against competing offerings
  • Responsible for representing the products, company values ​​and brand to customers and at field events such as industry and user conferences, technical meetings, etc.
  • Take ownership of the POC/pilot process: coordinate logistics of all stakeholders, assess customer requirements/objectives and align POC testing and findings accordingly. Help prospects with initial configuration and orientation.
  • Where possible, improve or develop technical documentation to facilitate customer or channel understanding and use of our products and services
  • Capture requested features and provide feedback to Product Management, Sales, Development, Support, Engineering and Marketing teams
  • Develop Statements of Work (SOW) for professional services required for a binding quote
  • Perform other tasks and projects as assigned

What you bring

  • Willingness to travel;
  • Fluent English, Spanish is a plus;
  • Support the sales department with presentations and analyses to expand the customer base;
  • Training new employees;
  • Document translation and verification for new products brought to market by Axon
  • Help sales managers document commercial offers
  • Educational background:
    • Associate degree in Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent field), or 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Professional background:
    • 4+ years of customer-facing pre-sales or consulting background required
    • 3+ years of experience in government procurement in Brazil
    • Experience in selling SaaS-based solutions
    • Experience in End User Compute or Cloud Computing is preferred
    • Experience with networking, storage, virtualization or related technologies
  • Must have intellectual curiosity, humility, sense of responsibility and a positive approach;
  • Strong technical writing skills to provide professional responses to customer RFPs/RFIs
  • Basic knowledge or curiosity in security, IPsec, InfoSec, hacking and exploitation tools and methodologies.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and storage devices.
  • The ability to work independently with considerable freedom to take action and make decisions, while maintaining a focus on achieving optimal results as part of a collaborative development effort.

  • Strong presentation skills and charisma, technical insight, the ability to simplify complex matters and the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Experience in developing Statements of Work (SOW) or similar documents
  • Intermediate knowledge of routing and switching methodologies, telecommunications and Internet technologies.
  • Basic knowledge of virtualization and cloud technologies
  • Professional certifications specific to networking and telecommunications, such as (but not limited to): CCNA, CCNP, ComTIA Network+, WCNA, etc.
  • Experience with technology solutions for law enforcement and government procurement in Brazil is a plus
