South Haven woman arrested, charged with child exploitation

GENEVA TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A South Haven woman is facing multiple charges after police found evidence she was exploiting children.

The 30-year-old was arrested Thursday after a tip about possible child sexual exploitation, the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office said.

Detectives from the Michigan Sheriff’s Office and the Michigan State Police obtained a search warrant for the home at 687 Country Road near Phoenix Street in Geneva Township, just east of South Haven. After that search, officers arrested the 30-year-old woman.

She faces 11 charges, including first- and second-degree criminal sexual conduct, staging child sexual abuse and using a computer to commit a crime.

Her identity is being kept secret until she is publicly charged.

If found guilty, she could spend the rest of her life in prison.
