A New York Republican said she was turned away from Citi Field while wearing a hat that said “Make America Great Again” and was told she couldn’t have it on her person…

The Mets organization has since stated that the employee misinterpreted the location’s dress code policy.

The team said in a statement to the Post:

A Mets employee was wrong about our dress code. We are reaching out to Aura Moody to apologize and invite her back to the stadium.

Aura Moody, a proud Republican from New York, learned the hard way that when she decided to show a little love for her favorite team: Team Trump, her feelings were not welcome.

In the land of the free, where you’re supposed to be able to cheer on any team or president you want, some people seem to have missed the memo.

Unfortunately, her choice of headgear, a “Make America Great Again” hat, proved to be a fashion blunder that Citi Field simply couldn’t handle.

Moody, along with her friend Taisha, walked into Citi Field, home of the New York Mets, ready to enjoy a game. Little did they know, they were about to become the latest victims of the blue-state anti-Trump brigade.

After slipping through a security checkpoint, the two were stopped by an employee who told them their MAGA hats were too heavy for the stadium.

And here’s the thing: not only could they not wear them, they couldn’t carry them with them.

Yes, apparently the mere presence of a Trump hat poses a threat to public safety.

The United States of America is no longer the vehicle of freedom and tolerance. I live under a communist regime where our freedoms are being trampled upon.

That may sound a bit dramatic, but when you consider how often Trump supporters find themselves in these kinds of situations, it’s not hard to understand why she feels the way she does.

Moody tried to invoke her First Amendment rights, but was told her hat was “too political.” Really? In New York City, the same place where “too political” usually means “not progressive enough”? Moody couldn’t help but think that if she had been wearing a Black Lives Matter hat or a Biden-Harris cap, she would have been let in without a second thought.

The Mets organization quickly attempted to defend itself, releasing a statement saying the employee had simply “misinterpreted” the location’s dress code policy.

They even apologized to Moody and invited him back to the stadium, sans MAGA hat of course. But Moody didn’t buy it. She saw it for what it was: political discrimination. After the game, when she tried to file a complaint, she was politely directed to an online form, the ultimate rejection.

Moody’s experience is just the latest example of how Trump supporters are treated in Democratic states.

From public intimidation to social media censorship, it’s clear that tolerance is a one-way street in these supposedly progressive strongholds.

As Moody put it:

We are on the brink of communism… I support President Donald Trump because he is the people’s president. He is the only one who can save the United States of America from being destroyed from within by the Democrats and the radical left.
