Venezuelan far-right party hired organized crime groups for post-election destabilization

Venezuela’s Foreign Minister Yván Gil informed the country’s accredited diplomatic corps that Venezuela’s far-right military had hired organized criminal gangs Aragua trail And The Llano Route to carry out a coup d’état.

During a meeting with the diplomatic corps on Wednesday, August 21, Gil stated that the far-right, backed by the US government, hired the notorious gangs to generate post-election violence. He added that this coup model was “designed by the CIA and the United States.”

“The evidence led us to believe that members of the gangs Aragua trail And The Llano Route“The Venezuelan authorities, whose structures were completely dismantled last year (by Venezuelan security forces), were hired by the opposition to carry out a coup d’état,” the foreign minister said during the meeting at Casa Amarilla, the headquarters of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry.

Minister Gil further reported that Attorney General Tarek William Saab has overwhelming evidence that a campaign is underway to overthrow the legitimate and constitutional government of President Nicolás Maduro.

US-backed opposition pays influencers $400 each to attack democracy in Venezuela

Yván Gil explained that in addition to the violent coup attempt in the country, there is also “an apparatus that has been deployed on social media” to promote the narrative that the official results of the National Electoral Council (CNE) are not recognized, which declared Nicolás Maduro the winner with more than 52% of the vote on July 28.

He added that this far-right narrative about not recognizing the results is baseless, as the opposition is unable to mobilize 5,000 people for a demonstration, yet claims to have obtained 8 million votes.

He also indicated that a group of influencers, “paid by foreign agents,” had started a campaign to provoke a violent overthrow of the constitutional government of President Nicolás Maduro.

“The opposition does not recognize any state power, so how can they seek popular recognition if they do not recognize any Venezuelan institution?” he asked. “They tried to inflate the turnout at the rally and it backfired.”

He stressed that Venezuela is currently experiencing peace and normalcy, almost a month after the presidential elections, and therefore urged the diplomatic corps to communicate this real situation to their governments.

“What prevails in the streets of Venezuela is absolute normality, like the normality we experienced before the electoral process,” said the foreign minister.
