Report of the Regional Director: The World Health Organization’s work in the African Region, July 2023–June 2024 – World

This report on the work of the WHO Secretariat in the African Region from July 2023 to June 2024 describes the support provided to Member States in the Region to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and to accelerate progress towards the SDG health targets.

The Transformation Agenda, a bold effort to accelerate the reform of the WHO Secretariat in the African Region launched in 2015, was consolidated during the reporting period. Actions taken to strengthen the commitment to WHO values ​​and ethical standards, integrate diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) together with prevention and response to sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment (PRSEAH), strengthen leadership and teamwork, contributed to the successful implementation of the health programme priorities outlined in the report.
