Lexington man charged with 29 counts of sexual exploitation of minor

AIKEN COUNTY, SC (WJBF) – A Lexington man is in custody after allegedly planting a camera in a teenager’s bathroom.

On July 15, Aiken County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home where suspicious activity was found.

A resident of that home discovered that a cell phone charger plugged into a bathroom outlet was actually a recording device, reports say, pointed toward the bathtub.

The complainant told police that the suspect, identified as Anthony Silva, had been staying there for the past three months.

Officers temporarily detained Silva while they seized evidence for a forensic examination, before releasing him.

After examining the evidence, Silva was arrested and charged on August 27.

He is being held in the Aiken County Detention Center on 29 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
