Netflix’s Mr. McMahon Documentary Reveals Vince’s ‘Explosive’ Sexual Misconduct Allegations

A series of six episodes Vince McMahon documentary called Mr. McMahon has been announced by Netflix. And it will boldly tackle the sexual misconduct allegations against the controversial WWE co-founder. The series will be directed by “Tiger King” star Chris Smith and executive produced by Smith and Bill Simmons. Here’s what we know so far about Netflix’s upcoming Mr. McMahon docu-series.

What Will Vince McMahon’s Netflix Documentary Cover?

The Netflix documentary about Mr. McMahon will feature interviews with Vince McMahon before his resignation in January 2024 and journalists who uncovered the “explosive” allegations against him.

That’s according to Netflix’s Tudum, which goes into more detail about the docuseries. The main thrust of the documentary will be about “McMahon’s transformation of WWE from a small, regional company to a global entertainment giant.” The series will also feature interviews with his family members, business associates and other “iconic names in wrestling history.” It will seek to explore who Mr. McMahon really is “beneath the persona he presented to the world.”

Smith revealed that the documentary had been in production for more than four years, but that the story was forced to evolve given the “extremely harrowing allegations” against him in the detailed sexual abuse lawsuit by former WWE employee Janel Grant. The lawsuit, which she filed in January, accuses McMahon, CEO Jon Laurinaitis and the WWE of gross sexual misconduct, including graphic details and alleged texts of systematic exploitation and abuse.

All six episodes of Mr. McMahon will be released on September 25, 2024. This means the series will not be split into multiple parts, like other documentaries on the platform.

WWE superstar Becky Lynch called the allegations “horrific,” though Vince McMahon has remained in contact with top WWE wrestlers, including John Cena and The Rock, following his firing. In May, Grant agreed to suspend her lawsuit pending a federal investigation into McMahon, as reported by NBC News.
