JD Vance sends message to Harris as migrant gang takes over Colorado apartments: ‘Americans are suffering’

Vice presidential candidate JD Vance said it’s time to end the practice of sanctuary cities as Aurora, Colorado, struggles with crime caused by a Venezuelan gang.

“If we don’t have a border, we don’t have a real country… Kamala Harris has allowed us to import the drug cartels into our own communities, and Americans are suffering because of it,” Vance said Friday on “Fox & Friends.”

Vance calls for an end to asylum cities and states after migrant gangs reportedly took over an apartment complex outside Denver.

“If there are illegal immigrants in your community, they need to go home. You need to work with local and federal law enforcement to get illegal immigrants out of our country.”

“It has to be against federal law and we have to be willing to use the financial strings of the federal government,” Vance said.

“If a local city won’t cooperate in deporting violent criminals, then we need to say, well, maybe we’re not going to give you as much money as we used to. We need to end the practice of sanctuary cities,” arguing that sanctuary status makes communities “poorer and less safe.”

Vance didn’t hold back when criticizing Kamala Harris for her role as vice president amid the ongoing border crisis.

“These local governments are being completely destroyed because they are paying so quickly for Kamala Harris’ open border.”

John Kellner, district attorney for Arapahoe County, Colorado, which represents Aurora, said Friday on “America’s Newsroom” that authorities are “prosecuting aggressively” and that there is a multi-agency task force investigating the Tren de Aragua gang.

The Public Prosecution Service assured citizens that they have held similar criminals accountable in the past.

“Over the last several years, we’ve seen elements of another transnational gang, MS-13, try to gain a foothold in our community. We’ve charged over a dozen members of that gang, aggressively prosecuted them for multiple murders, multiple shootings, violent crimes. And a number of them will likely look back on their life choices in prison for decades to come and regret them.”

Kellner added that police are actively working to identify the individuals who took over the apartment complex and committed other suspected crimes.

“I can tell you this is real. It’s not imaginary and it’s certainly not misinformation,” Kellner said after the governor downplayed the situation in Aurora.

“Cities in our country that are extremely far from our border are dealing with the consequences of a failed border policy. A porous southern border,” Kellner added.

COLORADO MAYOR SPEAKS OUT AFTER VIDEO OF VENEZUELAN ARMED GANG IN APARTMENT GOES VIRAL: ‘FAILED POLICY’

Democrat governor of Colorado Jared Polis dismissed the outrage over the video showing armed Venezuelan gang members in an apartment building as “imagination,” despite ample evidence.

In a statement shared with the New York Post, Polis spokeswoman Shelby Wieman said claimed: “The Governor has already informed the Mayor that the state is prepared to support local law enforcement with assistance from state troopers and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation if needed.”

“But according to police intelligence, this alleged invasion is largely a product of Danielle Jurinsky’s imagination,” he added Wieman.

Aurora City Councilwoman Danielle Jurinsky responded to the governor’s denial: “I’m so disappointed.”

Wieman responded on Fox News Digital, saying, “(Governor Polis) hopes the city council members in charge will stop destroying their own city when they should be keeping it safe.”

According to the report, Denver has welcomed more than 42,000 migrants since 2022, costing the hosting city more than $72 million. city data.

Tren de Aragua recently attracted attention when it emerged that the brother of the suspect in the murder of a Georgia student Laken Riley had ties to the gang. Both are illegal Venezuelan immigrants. Recently, the Treasury Department designated Tren de Aragua as a major transnational criminal organization and offered financial rewards for the conviction of three of its leaders.
