Man charged with child pornography after Oshawa home is searched

A Clarington man is charged with possession of child pornography after police searched his previous home in Oshawa.

The search was conducted on July 31 by members of the Durham Police Department’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) on suspicion that he had created and shared child pornography.

The man was arrested at the time and charged with failure to comply with the Sexual Offender Information Registration ACT (SOIRA) and Christopher’s Law.

Detectives seized multiple electronic devices, which they said contained a “multitude” of child pornography.

According to police, evidence was found that he planned to travel and perform sexual acts with minors.

The suspect is believed to have used the names ‘C Ja’ and ‘Nomey6969’ on the Telegram app.

He was arrested again on Friday and formally charged.

Christopher Jackson, 30, has been charged with a number of offences, including possession of child pornography, production of child pornography, importing/distributing/possessing child pornography for the purpose of distribution, agreeing to commit a sex offense against a person under the age of 16, violating a warrant for a sex offense conviction (five charges) and failing to comply with a probation order (eight charges).
