Clarington man charged with allegedly making and sharing child pornography

A 30-year-old Clarington man is facing multiple charges for allegedly making and sharing child pornography.

According to Durham police, members of the Internet Child Exploitation Unit executed a search warrant on July 31 at the home of a man who allegedly made and shared child pornography via the Telegram app using the usernames “C Ja” and “Nomey6969.”

The suspect was arrested and several electronic devices were seized from the home.

Analysis of the electronic devices reportedly revealed a “multitude of child pornographic content,” including plans to travel and allegedly perform sexual acts with minors.

The suspect was re-arrested and faces additional charges. Christopher Jackson of Clarington has been charged with:

  • Possession of child pornography, production of child pornography;
  • Importing/distributing/possessing child pornography for the purpose of distribution;
  • Agreeing to commit a sexual offense against a person under the age of 16;
  • Access to child pornography;
  • Five counts of violating a warrant for a sex offense and;
  • Eight counts of failure to comply with probation requirements.

He was being held pending a bail hearing.

Police fear there may be more victims. People with more information are asked to come forward.
