Meanwhile, Mohanlal recently resigned as the chairman of AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists). Breaking his silence on the findings of the Hema Committee Report, he said, “We welcome the Hema Committee report. It was the right decision of the government to release that report. AMMA cannot answer all the questions. These questions should be asked to everyone. This is a very hard-working industry. Many people are involved in it. But not everyone can be blamed for this. Those responsible will be punished, the investigation is on.”

“We will cooperate with the investigation process. We are only here to set the record straight. I do not know any power group. I am not part of it. I have not read the Hema committee report.”

The actor added: “Hikers should be punished if there is evidence against them.”

Along with Mohanlal, all the members of the executive committee submitted their collective resignation.

The Justice Hema Committee report was published by the Kerala government on August 19, 2024. It was prepared in response to the 2017 sexual assault case against an actress in a Malayalam cinema.
