Why Capt. Amarinder Singh Hesitates to Act Against Bikram Majithia and Suresh Arora – Khaira

Chandigarh: Opposition leader Sikhpal Singh Khaira, in a statement released here today, expressed shock and astonishment over the unyielding and autocratic behaviour of Captain Amarinder Singh for failing to take action against Bikram Majithia, Suresh Arora and Dinkar Gupta despite shocking allegations of their close links with the drug mafia.

Khaira slammed the Chief Minister for trying to intimidate and bully whistleblowers like DGP Chattopadhaya on the pretext of indiscipline. Khaira said that instead of ordering an inquiry or taking action against Suresh Arora and Dinkar Gupta, Capt. Amarinder Singh is trying to muzzle the voice of DGP Chattopadhaya on the pretext of indiscipline.

Khaira said that going to the Hon’ble Supreme Court to seek protection for his false involvement in the Inderpreet Chadha suicide case is not indiscipline, the High Court of Punjab and Haryana is the rightful constitutional institution for dispensing justice. Khaira said that since DGP Chattopadhaya has been appointed by the Supreme Court to verify the role of Raj Jit Singh SSP Moga in the ASI Inderjit Singh drug racket, so he is fully within his legal right to report the drug mafia connections of Arora, Gupta and Raj Jit Singh to the Hon’ble Supreme Court, which cannot be construed as an act of indiscipline.

Khaira also said that he failed to understand why Capt. Amarinder Singh is not initiating an inquiry against Bikram Majithia despite the STF having produced evidence in the High Court against him for facilitating the supply of drugs to Canadian drug barons like Satpreet Singh ‘Satta’ and Parminder Singh ‘Pinki’. Khaira said that Capt. has also completely turned a blind eye to the pleas of 40 Congress members seeking action against him.

Khaira criticized Capt. Amarinder Singh for adopting double standards by taking selective action. He said that while targeting Capt. Amarinder Singh in a malicious fake and frivolous drug case only on the basis of three-year-old call records, he is knowingly turning a blind eye to blatant and factual connections of Majithia, Arora and Gupta with the drug mafia and is unwilling to take concrete action against them.

Khaira said that by not imitating any investigation into Majithia, Arora and Gupta, Capt. Amarinder Singh is once again showing that there is complete agreement between him and the Badals when it comes to drugs or corruption.

Khaira also took a dig at Sukhbir Badal for maintaining a stoic silence on the revelation of DGP Arora’s connections with drug cartels. Khaira said that since Mr. Arora is a regular DGP of both Congress and Akali Dal, it appears that Sukhbir Badal prefers to support his crimes and remain completely silent on the issue.

Khaira reiterated his demand for a Supreme Court-monitored CBI probe against Bikram Majithia, Suresh Arora and Dinkar Gupta to unmask and expose those who are trying to destroy the future of Punjab’s youth. At the same time, Khaira warned Capt. Amarinder Singh to stop giving premeditated clean chits to his DGPs Suresh Arora and Dinkar Gupta, as he did in the case of tainted ex-minister Rana Gurjeet Singh, who eventually had to resign for his misdeeds.

Khaira questioned Captain Amarinder Singh whether this was the manner in which you had promised to end drug abuse within four weeks under oath of ‘Gutka Sahib’ before the elections.
