Bhopal: About three dozen people, connected to illegal miningthe fell staff of a mining contractor in Shahdol DistrictPolice have arrested two people in this case and are still looking for others.
The incident took place near Sukhad village, which falls under Deolaund police station, where other mining mafia attacks have taken place in the past.
In May this year, a mining mafia mowed down an ASI, while in November last year, a patwari was mowed down by a mining mafia.
In this case, the police have drawn up a report against 10 named and approximately 20 unidentified persons.
“Two suspects have been arrested and the drive to call in the NSA on one of them has been launched. A hunt has been launched to arrest others. There are around 10 named and 20 unidentified suspects,” Shahdol additional SP Abhishek Diwan told TOI.
He added: “The accused attacked the workers and property of the contractor who had legally leased the sand mine there.”
