Schumer urges House to pass online safety laws during Syracuse visit

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) visited East Syracuse on Tuesday to urge the House to move forward with voting on two bills aimed at protecting children online.

The Senate passed the bipartisan legislation in July by an overwhelming vote of 91-3. The bills, the Kids Online Safety Act and the Children and Teens Online Privacy Protection Act, would Restrict social media platforms from sharing children’s personal information and prohibit advertising targeted to children.
