Those who bow to mafias and rioters will have a heart attack at the sight of a bulldozer: Yogi

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday issued a stern warning against mafiosi, criminals and rioters while sharply criticising opposition parties for allegedly taking shelter from such elements for petty political ends.

Addressing the major district-level employment and credit fair at Kendriya Vidyalaya, IFFCO campus in Phulpur, Prayagraj, CM Yogi added that the opposition parties do not have the courage to drive a bulldozer and would rather have a heart attack if they see one.

CM Yogi distributed nomination letters to over 5,000 youth and loans of over Rs 510 crore were provided to 7,138 beneficiaries. In addition, 15,448 youth received tablets and smartphones as part of the scheme.

He also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 407 development projects worth Rs 634 crore in Phulpur. Keys of houses allotted under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana were handed over to the beneficiaries by CM Yogi.

In a secret attack, CM Yogi said that the present ‘Tipu’, who dreams of becoming a ‘sultan’, used to bow to the mafia and these leaders have tarnished the identity of Prayagraj by aligning themselves with criminals.

He warned criminals, noting: “Anyone who dares to violate the dignity of women will face serious consequences, including the loss of their limbs. Ensuring the safety of every citizen is our unwavering commitment, and we will do everything we can to uphold it.

CM Yogi also stressed on the plan to appoint 40,000 youth through the Subordinate Services Selection Commission and accelerate the process of other government recruitments in the state.

CM Yogi noted that this year has a special significance as the Maha Kumbh will be organised in Prayagraj in January 2025. Prayagraj will once again create a lasting impression on the world stage, he added.

He blamed opposition parties for stoking caste-based divisions and creating an identity crisis for the Prayagraj region, a centre of Vedic Sanatan culture. CM Yogi further noted that those who witnessed the Kumbh in 2013 probably left with the intention of never returning. However, under the leadership of PM Modi, the 2019 Kumbh showed the world how such an event should be organised, setting a new benchmark in security, service and system.

“Global respect for Prayagraj has grown, and now we are committed to restoring and increasing that respect,” he added.

CM Yogi stressed that the identity crisis was fueled by the corrupt practices of ‘Chacha and Bhatija’, and compared them to characters from the Mahabharata who took turns extorting the region. He asserted that this era of exploitation is over and no one in Uttar Pradesh can indulge in such activities anymore.

CM Yogi reiterated his government’s stand on protecting the future of the youth, saying that anyone endangering their future will be given jail time, confiscation of properties and removal of illegal encroachments. Women’s shelter homes and housing will also be set up for the underprivileged.

He warned that rioters would learn the true cost of their actions when their assets were confiscated and their names made public for seven generations. He described the Mafia as a societal curse that must be eradicated to secure a better present and future.

CM Yogi said he was happy to see youngsters devoting themselves to their education and seeking employment, determined not to be a burden to anyone.

“The government has implemented the CM Internship Scheme to support this, by providing interest-free loans to entrepreneurs to set up industries. Many business owners here are in need of skilled labour. With passion and a desire to work, even a small amount of capital can be converted into substantial wealth, potentially leading to the creation of a startup. Money earned through hard work not only prospers but also lays the foundation for the success of future generations,” he stated.

During the programme, CM Yogi said that he had recently distributed government appointment letters to 1,375 youths in 12 departments in Lucknow. He announced that the written examination results for 60,200 constable posts in the Uttar Pradesh Police Service would be released soon, creating more opportunities for youths to join the police force.

This will be followed by the initiation of another 40,000 to 45,000 new recruits. Through the Subordinate Services Selection Commission alone, the government will issue appointment letters to 40,000 youths, with plans to start similar jobs soon, the CM added.

CM Yogi assured that there will be no shortage of jobs for the youth in Uttar Pradesh with over 60,000 positions available in primary, secondary, higher, technical, professional and medical education. The recruitment process in various departments will continue to accelerate.

CM Yogi stressed that Uttar Pradesh is now a revenue surplus state and highlighted the recent formation of the Education Commission, which will start its work soon. He noted that Uttar Pradesh has become a model state for security and has emerged as a major investment destination, which is taking India’s development forward. With an investment of Rs 40 lakh crore, the state will create avenues for 1.5 crore jobs.
