Second man charged in Oshawa child pornography raids

Child pornography charges

A second man has been arrested following an investigation into the production and exchange of child pornography in Oshawa.

Christopher Jackson, 30, was arrested on August 30 — after being charged and released a month earlier — on suspicion of 10 counts of child pornography and an additional eight charges of violating the terms of a previous sex offense conviction.

Durham police found a “multitude” of child pornography during their Aug. 30 raid on Jackson’s home and said at the time they were concerned there were additional victims.

That same day, officers from the DRPS Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit received information that a second Oshawa man was creating and exchanging child pornography content online.

Officers visited the 38-year-old man’s home, seized multiple electronics, and charged him with possession of child pornography, production of child pornography, and two other child sex offenses. The man was taken into custody without incident.

The name of the suspect, who was being held pending a bail hearing, is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.

Anyone with information regarding this or similar incidents is asked to contact D/Cst. Mayhew of the Internet Child Exploitation Unit at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5502.
