Badshah says he wants to end his long-running feud with Yo Yo Honey Singh; ‘This is for my peace of mind and…’

In a surprise turn of events, rapper Badshah took the first step towards resolving his long-standing rift with Honey Singh at an event in Dehradun. However, in a later interview, Honey Singh revealed that he has no plans to work with Badshah in the future. Badshah addressed the situation and explained that he had been holding onto unnecessary baggage due to the outside noise and decided that it was time to let it go.

In a conversation on YouTube channel Prakhar ke Pravachan, Badshah spoke candidly about his current stand on Honey Singh. When asked about his recent decision to put their feud behind them, Badshah explained that it was a personal matter that had to do with unresolved feelings that he had been carrying for years. He shared that he realised that he was holding on to something from over a decade ago that was no longer serving him. For Badshah, the incident had become a mental burden and he saw it as an opportunity to free himself from old distractions and resentments. It was a moment of redemption and mental release for him.

He further explained that he has never been one to hold grudges, so he was puzzled as to why he kept dwelling on this particular issue. He suggested that the long-standing feud could have been influenced by external noise and subconscious impact, with no effort being made to resolve the issue. “This is for my mental peace and the bigger vision that I have for myself as an artist. Subliminal shots are part of the culture, but to give so much importance to it, you shouldn’t do it,” Badshah added.

Badshah further said that while the feud initially served as motivation, he eventually realized that it became a damaging force, similar to a tumor, affecting his present and future. He has moved past much of the psychological impact and has decided not to let it affect his actions. In his heart and mind, he has chosen to ignore the feud and leave it in the past.

At an event in Dehradun in May, Badshah paused his performance to address his past issues with Honey Singh. He acknowledged that he had held grudges in the past but expressed his desire to move on, stressing that more people were ready to sow division than to mend relations. Badshah indicated that he was putting that chapter behind him and conveyed his best wishes to Honey Singh. After the event, he went to X to reaffirm his commitment to peace and progress, underscoring his intention to move forward positively.

In a recent interview with The Lallantop, Honey Singh was asked about the possibility of working with former partners Raftaar and Badshah. Honey expressed his respect for Raftaar, acknowledging his talent and humble beginnings, despite their past struggles.

Honey stressed that if given a chance, he would collaborate with Raftaar, Lil Golu and Ikka as they are rising stars of the street. However, he made it clear that collaborating with Badshah is not in the cards. When asked about his feelings for Badshah, Honey said, “Naarazgi apno se hoti hai, paraayo se nahi.. Client se nahi.”

The ongoing feud between Badshah and Honey Singh dates back to 2009, after both artists left the rap group Mafia Mundeer, which also included Raftaar, Ikka and Lil’ Golu. The conflict escalated further when Honey Singh, during a press conference for his film Zorawar, made a derogatory comparison between Badshah and a Nano car, a comment that deeply hurt Badshah, who had once been a close friend of Singh.
