Angry cop throws chair at nurse over slight fluctuation in his patient’s blood pressure at Chhatarpur District Hospital

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A nurse at a district hospital in Madhya Pradesh has accused a police officer of misbehaving with her and throwing a chair at her on Friday. The nurse at the district hospital in Chhatarpur alleged that the police officer lost his temper over a slight fluctuation in his patient’s blood pressure and started abusing her.

According to information, the accused police officer had admitted his elderly relative to the hospital. Her condition was stable when the nurse examined her, as the nurse had told. As soon as a nominal fluctuation in blood pressure was observed, the police officer got angry and started behaving badly towards her.

The paramedical staff were also said to have been overloaded at the time of the incident, because so many students came for check-ups because they had suffered food poisoning after eating a cake.

Plainclothes accused later identified as police officer

Nurse Seema Rangdale informed the Free Press: “I and my colleague nurse Arti Pal were on duty from 2pm to 8pm. At the same time, a police officer came to the Chhatarpur district hospital as his elderly female relative was admitted to the medicine ward. We measured her blood pressure, which was normal at that time. After some time, there was a nominal fluctuation in the blood pressure, as happens in elderly patients.”

She continued: “At the same time, many students were also admitted to the ward after their health deteriorated due to food poisoning. So we were too busy taking care of them. In the meantime, the police officer came and started behaving badly towards us. He also tried to threaten us.”

The nurses also alleged that the police officer began interfering with their work even after his patient was stable in the ward. He was in plain clothes and was later identified as a police officer.
