Indian actress Sowmya accuses Tamil director of sexual exploitation

CHENNAI – Indian Malayalam film actress Sowmya has accused a Tamil director of making her a sex slave.

According to Indian media, several actresses from the Malayalam film industry have come forward in recent days with allegations of sexual harassment and assault against actors and filmmakers.

Now another Indian actress has come forward with shocking revelations, accusing a Tamil director of serious misconduct.

In her recent interview, actress Sowmya, without mentioning the name of the Tamil director, revealed with tears in her eyes that she was used as a sex slave by the director.

Sowmya said that the director first met her along with his wife. When they started communicating, the director openly described her as a daughter, both to his wife and to the world. He claimed that she was like a daughter to him.

She added: “On the one hand he portrayed me as his daughter, but on the other hand he mentally tormented me while maintaining a sexual relationship with me.”

The actress further stated that the director kept her as a sex slave for a year and that several actors, directors and technical experts exploited her during that period.

Sowmya confessed: “I felt ashamed. It took me 30 years to recover and get my life back on track after this incident.”

She added: “I cannot reveal the name of the director to the media, but I will pass him on to the Kerala police so that they can initiate an investigation.”

The Kerala government has formed a special police team to investigate several cases of sexual abuse in the Malayalam film industry.
