Kamala Harris demands more gun control after Georgia shooting

Vice President Kamala Harris wasted no time in calling for gun control following a shooting at a Georgia high school that left four people dead and several others injured.

However, Harris remains silent on the armed Venezuelan migrant gangs that are taking over apartment buildings and endangering public safety.

“It’s telling that gun violence is only talked about when it fits a certain narrative,” Russell Stuart, a Beverly Hills school board candidate and gun store owner, told Fox News.

“VP Harris is quick to politicize the actions of a 14-year-old boy with a mental illness, but remains silent on the very real and dangerous violence being perpetrated by gangs of illegal immigrants in American cities.”

“Lawful citizens deserve safety and security, and their protection must not be undermined by political games and distraction,” he added.

In X, Harris said she and her husband “mourned the deaths of those whose lives were ended by gun violence at Apalachee High School in Georgia.”

“Our hearts are with the students, teachers and families affected by this shooting, and we are grateful to the first responders and law enforcement on the scene. This is a senseless tragedy — and it doesn’t have to be this way. We must end the epidemic of gun violence in our country once and for all,” Harris wrote.

The debate over the Second Amendment came to the forefront after the Georgia battlefield shooting, highlighting the differing policy positions of Harris and former President Donald Trump.

The shooting sparked protests from left-wing activists on social media calling for stricter gun control measures, while gun rights activists attributed the shooting to an epidemic of mental health problems among teenagers.

“We need to get to the root cause of these school shootings,” said John Fabbricatore, a former Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent and congressional candidate.

“It’s not the guns that are causing the school shootings. Why do these kids think they can go out and kill other people?”

“Why do these children think it’s the right thing to do to find something to kill other people? That’s the main issue. That’s the issue we need to focus on,” he said.

He said the vice president would not bring up the takeovers of apartments by Venezuelan migrant gangs because “she contributed to this.”

Rep. Carlos Gimenez, R-Fla., said the migrant gangs are “taking over communities,” “but (Harris) is ignoring the consequences of her disastrous policies.”

According to Daniel Di Martino, a Venezuelan-born researcher at the Manhattan Institute, gang violence is exacerbated by local asylum laws

“It’s also going to be a very difficult foreign policy issue, by the way, for Trump or Biden or Harris, regardless of who wins,” Di Martino said. “Because most people don’t know this, but Venezuelans can’t be deported to Venezuela at this point.”

A violent Venezuelan gang first gained a “stranglehold” on an Aurora, Colorado, apartment complex last year when members took over the Whispering Pines and engaged in violent attacks, murder threats, extortion and child prostitution.

“The evidence we reviewed indicates that gang members engaged in egregious violations of trespassing, assault, human trafficking and sexual abuse of minors, unlawful possession of weapons, extortion, and other criminal activities, often targeting vulnerable Venezuelan and other immigrant populations,” T. Markus Funk, a former U.S. attorney, wrote in the letter.
