Malware Reverse Engineer, Senior

The chance:

As a Malware Engineer, you know that malware identification, evaluation, and documentation play a critical role in the CNO lifecycle. We are looking for someone like you to demonstrate your problem-solving skills in a rapidly evolving system security research and trend identification of malicious software targeting our nation’s most critical networks.

You evaluate and analyze complex malicious code using tools including disassemblers, debuggers, hex editors, unpackers, virtual machines, and network sniffers. You provide the findings in a technical report detailing the malware, identification parameters, advanced capabilities, and mitigation strategies. You conduct research on malicious software, vulnerabilities, and exploitation tactics. You lead the development of prototype application software or systems to demonstrate the possibility or exploitation of a vulnerability.

You have:

  • Experience with malware reverse engineering using static and dynamic analysis tools including disassemblers, debuggers, virtual machines or hex editors

  • Experience in identifying and classifying malware families based on standard taxonomy and typical malware attack methodologies

  • Knowledge of operating systems including Windows, Linux and Mac, application behavior and network traffic analysis to identify malware exploits

  • Ability to write clear and concise malware reports for distribution

  • Ability to reverse engineer binaries of various types including x86, x64, C, C++, .NET, and Delphi

  • Ability to analyze shellcode, packed and obfuscated code and their associated algorithms

  • TS/SCI approval with a lie detector

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of malware analysis and reporting experience or 6+ years of malware analysis and reporting experience in lieu of a degree

It would be nice if you have the following:

  • Master’s degree

  • GREM certification

Clearance:

Selected candidates will be subject to a security screening and may be required to meet eligibility requirements for access to confidential information. A TS/SCI statement with lie detector test is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The expected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 – $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total employee compensation package.
