Stop using your followers as human shields and surrender to the police.

This was made by party representative Arlene Brosas of Gabriela on Saturday in an appeal to the leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) church, Reverend Apollo Quiboloy, while members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) have been searching for him for two weeks in the KOJC compound in Davao City.

“Quiboloy should stop playing God and face the charges against him. Itigil na niya ang drama niya at sumuko na lang siya (He should stop his drama and just surrender),” Brosas, a member of the Makabayan bloc, said.

“Huwag niyang gamitin human shield ang mga taga-suporta niya (He should not use his supporters as human shields). The victims of his alleged crimes deserve justice and he must submit to the legal process,” the House assistant minority leader added.

The self-proclaimed “Appointed Son of God” is facing serious allegations of sex trafficking and sexual abuse, involving the exploitation of young girls and women.

“The exploitation of women and children is a serious violation of human rights that must be addressed urgently. We stand with the victims of Quiboloy. Every day that passes without this criminal being captured is a day that justice is not done to the victims,” Brosas said.

Gabriela says the organization “opens its doors to the victims of Quiboloy and pledges to further strengthen its campaign against violence against women and children.”
