Dismantle ‘Davao mafia’, arrest Quiboloy

House Committee on Metro Manila Development chairman and Manila Rep. Rolando Valeriano called on government agencies to dismantle the so-called “Davao Mafia” and immediately arrest Reverend Apollo Quiboloy, who is facing serious criminal charges.

Valeriano stressed the need to “uproot the mafia-like system in government and private offices in Davao City that has allowed Quiboloy” to build underground facilities with impunity.

“These underground facilities could not have been built without the actions of government agencies, private entities and individuals,” Valeriano said.

The Manila lawmaker stressed the need for “some sort of general housecleaning that must be initiated quickly to wash away the systemic corruption that allowed Quiboloy to flourish.”

“There should be a thorough inventory of weapons, ammunition, explosives and dangerous chemicals in the possession of individuals in Davao City. All illegal POGOs and fake BPOs in Davao City should be raided and dismantled,” he added.

Valeriano also called for the dismantling of POGO in Metro Davao, as ordered by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in his recent State of the Nation Address.

“The National Telecommunications Commission should conduct a regulatory audit of all entities with franchises for broadcasting and internet services in Davao,” he said.

“The NTC must ensure that none of these franchises are used for purposes that are illegal and contrary to their franchises from Congress,” Valeriano added.

POGOs are heavy Internet users.
