FIA busts international human trafficking gang operating in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: In a joint operation, Pakistani security forces along with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Sunday busted an international human trafficking network operating in the country, ARY News reported.

Based on intelligence reports, the FIA ​​arrested the group, which was defrauding citizens of the country by offering fake jobs abroad.

The gang stole billions of rupees and provided citizens seeking to settle abroad with forged documents they had printed themselves.

According to FIA officials, the printing house produced false documents for several countries to help people seeking political asylum.

The group also included individuals from India and Afghanistan. The investigation revealed that the gang had links to international criminal gangs and that there was an Indian plot to tarnish the reputation of Pakistan.

Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi lauded the efforts of Pakistani intelligence agencies and FIA Lahore in the successful operation and termed it a major milestone in the fight against human trafficking.

He vowed to continue similar operations and promised to tackle the human trafficking mafia with “iron hands”.
