While the two have always disagreed about who is better, a closer look would prove how One piece surpasses Naruto in several important respects. Of those many, one particular aspect objectively surpasses the others, causing people to believe One piece is the better Shonen series.

These aren’t just for simple aesthetics, they tell stories!

His outfits usually have a purpose or reason, such as in Alabasta where the outfit helped him in the desert environment. Also, on Whole Cake Island, the suit was used to differentiate him and integrate himself into the entire culture presented on the island. At each point, each outfit reflects his development and experience in the series.

Furthermore, his third Wano outfit, for example, is the epitome of his entire journey, and reflects his growth and bond with the people he met along the way. There are several other examples of characters in the series who have an outfit that is very meaningful to the story, and that expands the world of One piece even more. Eiichiro Oda really thought about the details to make the story more appealing.

Boruto looks exactly like a cool clone of Sasuke!

Regarding this One piece in return for Naruto debate, fans brought up a very interesting discussion about the character design where Boruto was accused of being an edgy clone of Sasuke. According to One piece fans, Luffy’s different outfits fit the personality and adventures he’s been on, while Boruto just copied Sasuke’s whole style. They even started calling him “fake cat” And “Sasuke clone“.

This is evident from the way in which One piece Fans are very pleased with the well-thought-out character Luffy has become. The character design just screams for a cheerful adventurer.

This kind of criticism shows that from Boruto designs are more focused on the style factor than the character itself. It lacks those depths and complexities in character design compared to Luffy.

Some Naruto And Boruto Fans immediately jump to the defense and claim that this is an exaggeration of the similarities between Boruto and Sasuke. They claim that Boruto and Sasuke only use a similar cape and a sword, other than that their general appearances are very different.

They blame One piece fans for overreacting to this issue, saying that Boruto’s design is still well thought out. This just goes to show how subjective character design is and how passionate fans can get with these debates.
