MS man sentenced to 30 years in prison for filming sexual abuse of minors

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A DeSoto County, Mississippi, man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for filming his sexual assault on at least two minors, the U.S. Department of Justice announced Tuesday.

Joshu Anderson pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation of minors.

In addition to a 30-year prison sentence, Anderson was also sentenced to lifelong parole and must register as a sex offender regardless of where he lives, works, attends school or temporarily resides.

According to court documents, while Southaven police were investigating the sexual abuse of an adult acquaintance, they discovered videos that Anderson, 29, had made and kept on his cellphone. The videos allegedly contained sexual abuse of at least two minors.

Anderson was identified by a distinctive physical feature on his left hand.

“By choosing to victimize innocent children for his own twisted sexual gratification, this defendant has earned every day of the 30-year sentence imposed in this case,” said U.S. Attorney Clay Joyner.
