Two men suspected of being members of the Comanchero Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMG) were arrested by Tongan police in their attempt to combat transnational organised crime in Tonga.

The men, aged 35 and 44, were arrested. Tonga police said they also seized cash, Comanchero t-shirts, hoodies and vests.

“Both suspects have been charged with ‘participation in an organised criminal group’ under the Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Organised Crime Act.”

The men were said to have been the Comanchero sergeant-at-arms and treasurer OMG “Here in Tonga,” the police said.

Tonga police reminded the public “to look out for each other and to avoid involvement or association with gangs or organised crime groups.”

“Not only are these types of groups illegal in Tonga, but they also organise and carry out a wide range of illegal activities, all of which have a damaging effect on our communities and our culture,” police said.
