Cybersecurity Engineer and Penetration Tester

Key role:

Find potential vulnerabilities using penetration testing tools and techniques to ensure the security of computer systems, applications, servers, and networks. Apply advanced consulting and extensive technical expertise and comprehensive industry knowledge. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without much direction and guide and supervise team members.

Basic requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in cyber penetration testing or developing risk and threat mitigation plans

  • 3+ years of experience working on Linux, Windows and virtual platforms

  • 3+ years of experience with computer attack methods and system exploitation techniques

  • 3+ years of experience deploying adversarial tactics to perform practical security testing

  • 3+ years of experience performing network security analysis, including software or traffic analysis

  • TS/SCI approval with a lie detector

  • HS diploma or GED

Additional qualifications:

  • Experience manually reviewing source code, including Java, Ruby, Python, JavaScript, Rust, or C, to find security vulnerabilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field

  • Certification for Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP), HTB Certified Penetration Tester Specialist (CPTS), eLearnSecurity Junior Penetration Tester (EJPT), GIAC Global Information Assurance Penetration Tester (GPEN) or GIAC Cloud Penetration Tester

Clearance:

Selected candidates will be subject to a security screening and may be required to meet eligibility requirements for access to confidential information. A TS/SCI statement with lie detector test is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The expected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 – $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total employee compensation package.
