Audubon man sentenced to 25 years in prison for sexual exploitation of minor | News

(Council Bluffs) – An Audubon man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison on federal sexual exploitation charges.

U.S. Attorney Richard D. Westphal announced Thursday that 27-year-old William Roland Brubaker was sentenced to 300 months in federal prison for sexual exploitation of a minor. Brubaker must serve 10 years of supervised release after his release. There is no parole in the federal system. Brubaker must also register as a sex offender.

Authorities say Brubaker initiated a sexual relationship with a minor and produced videos containing child abuse material of the minor. Court documents state the videos were recorded on a cell phone and shared with Brubaker through a social media application.

The case was investigated by the Audubon County Sheriff’s Office, the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation’s Cyber ​​Crime Bureau, the Iowa Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force.
