Project Specialist – International Grant Management – United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is currently seeking a talented professional for the role of Project Specialist – International Grant Management. Reporting to the Senior Director – International Grant Management, this individual will play a key role in enabling and supporting grant management system strengthening processes. The Specialist will be responsible for providing project management, operational systems, and administrative support to facilitate the high performance of the Global Foundations, Organizations & Institutions (Global FOI) team and the broader Integrated Programs (IP) team. This individual will also support the Senior Director with ad hoc grant management tasks and collaborate across the HFH network, serve as a point of contact for key internal stakeholders, provide updates and clarifications on grant management strengthening processes, and seek feedback as needed. The Specialist will work closely with our four Area Offices (Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe & Middle East, and Latin America & Caribbean) to coordinate and support grant management processes, as well as with teams in the US and Canada.

This role is performed remotely in the UK or the US.

Main Responsibilities:

System reinforcement

– Support the international roll-out of new end-to-end grant management processes, in line with agreed plans.
– Act as a point of contact for key internal stakeholders, for example by providing updates and clarifications on strengthening grant management processes, requesting feedback or input on processes, and organizing group discussions or workshops.
– Support in drafting and creating policies, formats, training materials, etc. for the management of international subsidies.

Entity Support

– Work with AO focal points, as well as the US and Canada, to develop and maintain enhanced mechanisms to support priority grant-funded programs and collect information for internal quarterly reporting to the Operations Leadership Team.
– Support in training and mentoring AOs, branches and NOs in the US and Canada as part of the end-to-end process and system implementation, and on an ongoing basis as required.
– Provide specific support for special projects at the request of the line manager (e.g. practical support in starting up a new major grant, participating in mapping donor requirements and planning mitigation measures).

General

– Develop and maintain systems to track and analyze key data from international grant teams (linked to general systems).
– Build solid working relationships with the HFHI network – HQ, branches, NOs, finance, compliance, audit, MEAL.
– Manage the flow of information within the HFHI network, in particular for clear and supportive communication on strengthening grant management.
– Liaise with other NGOs and partner contact points on grant management issues as needed.
– Perform other reasonable duties as requested.

Main requirements:

– Master’s degree or equivalent, preferably in international grant management, strategic project management, development studies or another relevant discipline.
– Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in project and grant management in the international development/humanitarian sector, preferably including the implementation of complex bilateral and multilateral funded projects.
– Understanding the operational and compliance requirements of large institutional donors.
– Insight into the quality standards for international development programmes.
– Fluent English.

The actual salary offered for this position is based on several factors, including location, internal equity, and the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience. HFHI offers a competitive, comprehensive benefits package that varies by country and typically includes vacation, sick leave, personal days, health insurance options, retirement contributions, and life insurance. For job locations in the US, the salary for this position ranges between $56,000 and $66,000.
