Job Summary:

Horizon BCBSNJ internship is designed to provide students with cybersecurity industry exposure, hands-on experience, collaboration, and creative problem-solving skills. The intern will actively contribute to meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and senior leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Helps support enterprise-level information security policies and standards.
• Perform security audits and assessments, conduct risk analysis and network forensics.
• Assist in managing security technology and investigating alerts.
• Support the Cyber ​​Security Operations Center (CSOC) in responding to security incidents and threats.
• Help prioritize vulnerabilities based on severity and risk of exploitation and work with IT to remediate vulnerabilities.
• Check for possible phishing emails and follow recovery procedures.
• Escalate incidents and assign them to Senior Cyber ​​Security Analysts.
• Perform administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements:

• Earn a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information security, cybersecurity, or a related field
• Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, including phishing tactics and email security.
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work well in a team
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail

Location: 3 Penn Plaza Newark NJ – Hybrid Work Schedule

Schedule: 8:00am-5:00pm (9-hour workday with lunch)

Duration: 11 weeks summer internship program (June 2, 2025 – August 15, 2025)
