Atlanta Rapper Peewee Longway Reportedly Arrested in $200 Million Drug Bust

Atlanta rapper Peewee Longway was reportedly arrested as part of a large-scale drug operation.

On Thursdaymore than 100 people were arrested in Columbus, Georgiaas part of “Operation Sweet Silence.” Several of those people face federal charges in the raid, which began two years ago and targeted gangs. However, a trove of drugs and weapons were recovered during the operation, including 7.1 kilograms of fentanyl, 57.21 kilograms of cocaine, 55,248 pounds of marijuana and 1.3 kilograms of heroin. Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office says the total value of the drugs exceeds $200 million.

It is unclear what role Longway may have played in the operation, although multiple media outlets have reported that he was indeed arrested during the raid. He is known for working with other Atlanta luminaries, including Young thug, rich Homie Quan, Migos, and many others.

During a press conference, Muscogee County Sheriff Greg Countryman issued a stern warning to gang members and dealers in the community.

“If you are involved in criminal activities, I want to send you this message. Just because your name was not mentioned in yesterday’s arrest, I don’t want you to back down. I don’t want you to breathe a breath of fresh air, a sigh of relief, because our work is not done yet. Just because you are not arrested, doesn’t mean we are not looking at you. So don’t get too comfortable because our work is not done yet,” he said firmly.

Longway’s team has not yet commented on his possible charges, and it is unclear whether he has been released.
