Gerald Michael “Gerry the Weasel” Tempo (born April 16, 1951) is an American mobster and associate of the Sandonato crime family of Manhattan. Pace, a subordinate of family soldier Oreste Nicassio, began his real estate racketeering career in the 1970s, selling properties at exorbitant prices to gullible customers; he was arrested on fraud charges in September 1982, but was acquitted at trial and generally evaded law enforcement scrutiny throughout his criminal career. In the early 1990s, authorities believed Pace was the target of a hit by capo Gaetano Provenza, which would likely have been carried out had Provenza not been jailed on racketeering charges in May 1991. In August 2005, he was indicted along with dozens of other mobsters on racketeering and insurance fraud charges, and pleaded guilty in April 2006 and was sentenced to seven years in prison; Pace was released in October 2012.
