Florida man found guilty of using hidden cameras to film children

Miami resident Gary Rivera has been found guilty of producing and attempting to produce child abuse material.

According to the prosecution, testimony and evidence presented at trial revealed that Rivera gave three items to a child, each containing a hidden camera. When the mother found the cameras, she called the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.

When detectives examined his cell phones, they found 14 files containing child pornography and an app to control the hidden cameras.

Rivera was found guilty of two counts of producing and attempting to produce child pornography and one count of attempting to produce child pornography.

On each charge, Rivera faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years and a maximum of 30 years in federal prison.

His sentencing hearing is scheduled for December 4.
