NJPW Road To Destruction Night 5 Results & Rating (September 14, 2024)

On September 14, 2024, NJPW broadcast the 5th night of Road To Destruction live in Hokkaido, Japan at the Noboribetsu City General Gymnasium to 1,255 fans. The broadcast can be seen on NJPW World.

Please note: This review is shorter than usual as it covers the last few minutes of the match (except for the Rumble)

NEVER Openweight 6 Man Tag Team Champions Toru Yano & Kazushi Sakuraba vs. Masatora Yasuda & Daiki Nagai

Kazushi Sakuraba starts this match against Daiki Nagai before Toru Yano & Masatora Yasuda traded blows. Yasuda stomped on Sakuraba and applied a Boston Crab.

Sakuraba applies a Figure 4 and Yasuda resigns.

Junior Heavyweight Champion Douki vs. 2024 G1 Climax Winner Zack Saber Jr vs. Shota Umino vs. Francesco Akira vs. Jado vs. Katsuya Murashima vs. Kōsei Fujita vs. Ryusuke Taguchi vs. Sanada vs. Sho vs. Shoma Kato vs. Taichi vs. Taka Michinoku vs. Takashi Iizuka vs. Takeya To vs. Tiger Mask IV vs. Tomoaki Honma vs. Tomoya vs. Yoshinobu Kanemaru vs. Yuma 24

Katsuya Murashima was #1 & Shoma Kato is #2 kicks off this match for Yuma24 was at number 3.

Tomoaki Honma was then #4 Tiger mask was then #5 Kosei Fujita was at number 6.

Murashima was the first to be ejected Yes was #7 & Ryusuke Taguchi was #8. Taguchi rolls up Kato and takes him out.

Francesco Akira was #9 & he superkicked and took out Yuma24. Taka Michinoku was at number 10.

Tomyoya was #11 and he immediately did a delayed vertical suplex on Honma to show his strength.

Tomoya and Fujita exchanged chops as Hiroyoshi Tenzan go to #12 for Takashi Iizuka was at number 13.

He walked around the entire building before he finally got in the ring. He has the oversized silver claw.

Akira was hit and fell to the ground, he was knocked out, while Iizuka hit Tenzan with his claw.

Michinoku jumped on Tenzan and pinned him. Tai Chi enters at #14.

Iizuka attacked one of the ringside commentators, but Taichi saved the man and threw Iizuka back into the ring. Iizuka and Taichi were thrown. Yoshinobu Kanemaru was at number 15. Sho was at number 16.

Fujita was thrown to the floor and knocked out, then Tiger Mask was thrown. Douki was at number 17.

He hits a springboard double back elbow while Douki and Kanemaru are fighting on the apron, sending them both to the floor. Sanada was #18. Michinoku was rolled up and pinned as Sanada walked to the ring.

Sho grabbed his wrench and the referee tried to grab it. Sanada threw Sho.

Suddenly there were only Jado, Honma, Sanada and Tomoya in the ring.

Shota Umino was #19 & he threw Tomoya. Jado was also eliminated.

Zack Sabre Jr was #20, so our final 4 were ZSJ, Umino, Sanada and Honma.

ZSJ and Honma immediately exchange forearm strikes, after which ZSJ ties up Honma and he hands it over.

Umino, ZSJ and Sanada exchanged forearm strikes and began rolling each other up.

Sanada was pushed off the apron to the floor and was eliminated and ZSJ hits Umino’s shoulder with a Pele Kick and then drops him with a forearm. Umino hits Blaze Blade on the jaw for a near fall.

ZSJ applies an Octopus Stretch before Umino knocks ZSJ off the apron to the floor, winning the Rumble.

Winner: Shota Umino (34:41)

Match 3 6 Man Tag Team Match
Bullet Club War Dogs (strong openweight champion Gabe Kidd, world champion David Finlay and Gedo) vs. Chaos (Tomohiro Ishii, Yoshi Hashi and Hirooki Goto)

Hirooki Goto hits Gabe Kidd with a neckbreaker over the knee for a near fall and then performs a brainbuster for a near fall.

Kidd hits a clothesline and then his own brainbuster for a near fall. Kidd hits a Leg Trap Style Piledriver to get the win.

Winners: Bullet Club War Dogs (10:48)

10 Man Tag Team Match
United Empire (NEVER Openweight Champion Henare, Television Champion Jeff Cobb, KOPW 2024 Champion Great O Khan, Jakob Austin Young & Callum Newman) vs. Los Ingobernables De Japon (IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Tetsuya Naito, Hiromu Takahashi, Shingo Takagi, Yota Tsuji & Bushi)

Bushi comes in and hits Henare’s knee with a basement dropkick. Callum Newman hits Henare’s knee with a sprinting Mafia Kick.

Naito hits Great O Khan with an enzuigiri. Bushi hits Henare with a Rewind Kick.

Henare gives Bushi an Ultima, sits down on the mat and Bushi gives up.

Winners by entry: United Empire (14:08)

Be Bop Tag Team (Hiroshi Tanahashi & Toru Yano) & Boltin Oleg (c) vs House Of Torture (Yujiro Takahashi, Dick Togo & Evil)

Evil & Dick Togo uses Magic Killer on Toru Yano and then a cover, but Hiroshi Tanahashi saves.

Togo gives Yano a Pedigree before Boltin gives Oleg Togo a Kamikaze.

Tanahashi gives Togo a High Fly Flow and Yano then gives Togo a standing powerbomb for the win.

Winners and still NEVER Openweight 6 Man Tag Team Champions: Be Bop Tag Team & Boltin Oleg (16:51) (STILL CHAMPIONS!!!!)
