Violent gangs from Venezuela have now arrived in Texas, where they are now targeting crucial energy infrastructure in the main US oil field.

A Texas oil and gas company has reportedly sent a memo to its employees stating that both local police and the FBI are aware of migrant gangs from Venezuela and Cuba committing thefts and other crimes in the Permian Basin.

“Industry members and law enforcement in West Texas (WTX) are aware of a recent increase in organized criminal activity, including violent crimes, gang activity and oil field thefts in and around WTX’s operating areas,” the memo said.

“These individuals and groups are armed, violent in nature and will not hesitate to use violence.”

The memo further explains that the crimes committed include theft of:

• Oil
• Diesel fuel
• Copper wire and catalyst elements

“Recent incidents also include two attacks by water haulers attempting to steal oil from WTX oil fields,” the memo continues. “After the thieves were spotted by witnesses who came to watch, the thieves attempted to use their vehicles to run the witnesses off the road.”

“In another incident, a thief who was acting as a spotter following a water carrier who had stolen oil also attempted to run a witness off the road. There are numerous reports of second vehicles acting as spotters for water carriers committing oil thefts.”

It should be noted that Texas is not a sanctuary state, and neither are the areas in and around the Permian Basin where illegal immigrants run amok and steal things. Yet these criminal gangs have targeted the Lone Star State’s domestic energy production in their latest escapades.
